My verdict: Rose hip oil
I am about to debunk a massive myth - using an oil on your face will not make your face oily.
Rose hip oil is one of the best things you can use on your skin. It's suitable for all skin types, including those with oily or sensitive skin - 3 cheers for that!
I use Swisse (I buy it myself). It's a combination of rose hip and essential oils - 100% naturally sourced ingredients. The oil is extracted from the seeds of the rose hip that grow on wild rose bushes. The flowers lose their petals, leaving behind the fruit, containing the good stuff.
Regardless of which brand you go with, rose hip oil has a variety of benefits for the skin including improving its texture, reducing the appearance of acne scars and stretch marks.
It promotes skin cell turnover to improve your complexion, also adding essential fatty acids to the skin surface to help fight the signs of ageing and boost moisture.
Ingredients include Vitamin E - an anti-oxidant that will also reduce the signs of ageing and protect from free radicals such as pollution and UV rays. Vitamin C brightens the skin and improves skin tone while linoleic acid is anti-inflammatory, reducing redness, improving pigmentation and providing acne relief. It's also super hydrating.
Use rose hip oil after cleansing, morning and night, pat it on your skin for better absorption and around the eyes, use your ring finger because it's the finger with the least muscles and perfect for the gentle area.
Wait a couple of minutes for it to absorb before applying your moisturiser and sunscreen on top. I find it absorbs well and my makeup doesn't look any different when applied on top, lasting just as long. I think my skin is more hydrated, brighter and healthier looking after using it for several months.
