The best of beauty for 2018

So many products are released every year, it’s hard to stay on top of them all.

I have tried quite a few new beauty products this year and thought I’d share the best ones (in no particular order).

L’Occitane immortelle reset serum is a light weight water gel serum you apply at night. It’s packed with antioxidants to increase collagen production, plumping up the skin and leaving it looking smoother and firmer. It’s hydrating and my skin looked brighter and smoother after using it for just a few nights.

RAWW superfood skincare range contains all natural ingredients and are pregnancy and breastfeeding friendly. The ingredients like Acai Berry and Goji Berry target the first signs of ageing, Wildberry Harvest hydrates and Green Tea soothes the skin. The products left my skin so soft and smooth and the serum is my favourite because it’s designed to target fine lines around the eyes as well as the rest of the face.

Zincredible. I recommended this in my Christmas beauty buys list and I’m recommending it again. It’s a hydrating physical sunscreen that doesn’t leave your face white and sits so nicely under makeup. I’ve done a full review of the sunscreen and you can have a read here. You can also get Zincredible tinted which is exactly the same formula as the original, just with a little colour and can be worn under foundation or on its own. I haven’t tried the tinted one.

Dermaenergy Hydrate and Inflate also appeared in my Christmas beauty buys list but I love it that much. I think Hyaluronic acid is essential for every beauty routine as it plumps up the skin and minimises the appearance of fine lines. It’s also incredibly hydrating. This one made my skin a better version of itself - just what you want from a product.

Blessed by Nature antioxidant eye serum contains all natural ingredients like Kakadu plum that contains Vitamin C to brighten and tackle pigmentation, Jojoba oil to moisturise and Sunflower oil that’s packed with antioxidants. It hydrated my under eye area and you only need the smallest amount for it to work, so it’ll last you a while.

What I didn’t get around to trying

Ole Henriksen retin-alt serum

I can’t use anything containing Vitamin A or retinol because I’m breastfeeding. It was also in the no go zone during my pregnancy which is so unfortunate because it’s a superhero anti-ageing ingredient that just does wonders for reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and improving the overall look and feel of your skin.

But skincare master Ole Henriksen has come up with an all natural alternative to retinol and I cannot wait to give it a go. It’s slightly on the pricier side when you get the serum ($78) and night cream ($88) but hopefully it’ll be worth it because of what it can do for my skin. I’ll review it when I’ve tried it.

Dyson airwrap

I might never actually get around to trying this because it comes with a hefty price tag ($699) but it was released this year and uses air to dry your hair, straighten it or give it a curl so no excessive heat. Genius idea!

Model co Tan Water

I tried a lot of other tans and just ran out of time to give this one a go. I’ve heard good things and it’s really affordable too ($21) which you just have to love. I’ll be doing a review on it, so stay tuned.

So that’s it for 2018. What a big beauty year and I can’t wait to do it all again in 2019.

Happy New Year!
