You need to know what happened when I had this beauty treatment
It’s like a bubble bath for your face!
I was intrigued and excited by the prospect of having an oxygen treatment when my dermal clinician Carly Whytcross from Caps Clinic, told me they were now doing them.
It’s a two step process that targets impurities, moisturises, conditions and softens, making extracting those nasties easier.
“An oxygen treatment is a professional treatment that delivers a boost of oxygen directly into the skin while targeting impurities, brightening, soothing and hydrating,” Carly says.
“That boost of oxygen helps to treat the skin’s surface and is fantastic when used in conjunction with other treatments.”
Caps Clinic offered it to me with an exfoliation so the products can get deep into the skin and do their thing with maximum efficiency.
My makeup was removed and my skin cleansed twice all before exfoliation using “a refreshing yet powerful cranberry enzyme and lactic acid mask” that exfoliates and softens. It acts as a detox, packing the skin with antioxidants as well as moisturising and calming the skin.
Then the fun began.
The oxygenation cream was then added and straight after the activator went on the top, before being beautifully massaged into my skin – talk about relaxing.
When the cream and activator come into contact with bacteria in the skin, the oxygen is released and bacteria destroyed, hence the bubbling.
It’s then left on for about 10 minutes so to pass the time, I got a hand massage.
Carly says anyone can benefit from this type of treatment and it “leaves skin looking fresh and dewy.”
I got a couple of pimples after the treatment which isn’t unusual when you exfoliate and detox, just annoying, but I thought my skin looked like it had a nice glow to it for a while afterwards and who doesn’t want that.
So why might we need an oxygen treatment when other treatments might do the same?
I’m glad you asked.
As we get older the oxygen levels in our skin decline, which is why those fine lines and wrinkles show up.
This treatment puts that oxygen back into the skin, improving its overall look and feel and promotes collagen production which gives that plumped, firm look.
Another bonus, there’s no down time so you can do it in your lunch break (the whole treatment took 30 minutes) and then chuck your makeup back on top.
It’s recommended to have this treatment every two to four weeks, adding them to others like peels, microdermabrasion and LED treatments to keep your skin looking fresh.
If you like the sound of this, CAPS Clinic will be one of many exhibitors at the Ultimate Women’s Weekend event on July 29 and 30 at EPIC, offering an exfoliation and oxygen treatment for $80.
There’s be plenty of other exhibitors offering info on fitness, photography, food, makeup, and jewellery.
All money raised goes to Beryl Women Inc. It’s a community based women’s refuge in Australia offering support and accommodation to women, children and youth escaping domestic and family violence.
It’s definitely a cause to get behind and support.
