Why these skincare treatments are worth trying

When you think of two things that go well together what springs to mind? Ice cream and chocolate sauce, George and Amal Clooney, Sundays and a lamb roast?

What about microdermabrasion and LED light treatment for the skin?

I have been treated to both thanks to Laser Clinics Canberra Centre and my skin is loving me right now.

I'd had the treatments before, during my extreme and carefully curated skincare regime in the lead up to my wedding so it was a no brainer to do it again when offered the chance.

My skin is smoother, more plump and healthy with a lovely glow.

It's simple and pain free and having one done after the other maximises the benefits.

Microdermabrasion took about 20 minutes and I was under the LED for 16 minutes.

Let's break down how they actually work.

Microdermabrasion

It's described as a mini vacuum for your skin. The microderm tool removes the superficial layer of dull, dead skin cells to allow the new, healthier stuff to come through.

Once the old, unwanted layer is removed, all those beauty products you use will penetrate deeper and work a whole lot better.

The results, that can also include the reduction of fine lines, last for about a month. Anyone can have microderm but if you have sensitive skin, there might be some redness or temporary flaking which should pass pretty quickly.

Since I've gone off the pill, along my jaw line and up to my cheekbones have seen the reemergence of congestion which unfortunately is all hormonal while my body adjusts.

Microderm helped eliminate some of this congestion, which I was more than happy to say farewell to.

There were a couple of breakouts after my first microderm but it was worth it for smoother skin.

Healite II

You can have the yellow one or the blue one.

The yellow light was right for me and for 16 minutes I relaxed under the warm light as it worked to stimulate the production of collagen which is essential to boost the strength and elasticity of the skin. More collagen can reduce the signs of ageing like fine lines and wrinkles.

This is why I love the treatment so much - collagen is the good stuff and it's all about natural rejuvenation.

The blue light is for anyone who suffers from acne or has in the past.

My verdict

These beauty treatments are worth considering. They're non invasive, chemical free and suitable for all skin types.

Like I said, I chose to have both these treatments previously (which I paid for) in the lead up to my wedding to make sure my skin looked its very best for the big day and without a doubt I recommend it to you. On my wedding day and now after having the treatments done, I am loving the look of my skin.
