The 4 things to look out for at Fashfest

I am a Fashfest fan girl - I found my wedding dress designer at Fashfest last year (you can see the pics of my Naomi Peris dress here) and wedding makeup artists in the head of makeup Diana Cheetham and the talented Amy Capeda.

Naomi has just been showcasing her incredible designs in Milan and will be back in Canberra, to give her fans like me what they want.

With just a few sleeps until Fashfest, here are 4 things I am most looking forward to this year - in no particular order.

1. How many times can we say we've seen an Alex Perry gown down a runway, well that's what you'll get with Momento Dezigns showcasing some of the labels stocked in the Manuka boutique.

"For our Fashfest debut people should expect a snippet of the treasures available to Momento clientele all year round. Of course we will be season specific," owner Ros Wright says.

"We are taking 12 gorgeous models and putting together a small taste of some of Momento’s best.

"We know that people want to see a show, so our looks will be impactful. It goes without saying that Alex Perry is never one to disappoint in the visual stakes so of course his garments will be gracing the catwalk."

As well as Perry, expect to see KITX, Camilla, Ginger & Smart and Patrizia Pepe to name a few.

Check out these pics for a sneak peak of what to expect.

2. Charly Thorn. She's the Cooma teenage designer who received a standing ovation after her debut solo show last year and from that she has been invited to Vancouver Fashion Week. She is sticking to her roots and fitting in Fashfest between overseas obligations. After Fashfest she's off to LA!

Here are some of the designs she just showcased in Vancouver a few days ago.

3. Bird Skin. I think there's something exciting seeing sequins and bold designs down the catwalk and that's what we'll get from Bird Skin. Unique outfits and spectacular silhouettes. What more do you want!

4. The hair and makeup. Last year we got this - do I need to say more?

Months of preparation goes into creating individual looks for each runway show and it’s just an incredible artistic display.

Harlotte is back again as makeup sponsor and I was introduced to Michelle Crofts the head of the booming makeup brand and the brand's range of products. I highly recommend their foundation (worn and well lasting on my wedding day) as well as their lipstick in birthday suit, liquid lipstick in leggy Peggy and translucent pressed powder. Can you tell I'm a fan.

This is just a taste of what we'll get with so much more fashion plus music performances and short films.

You can still get yourself a ticket to one of 6 Fashfest fashion shows being held from September 28 to 30 at the National Convention Centre.
